Update: recipes arrived in October, on iPhone and Android alike. See what’s new.
Masala Menu is now available on the App Store. iPhone users can plan the whole week’s meals in a couple of minutes, with all the features we released on Android in early September.
Get Masala Menu on the App Store. It’s free to download, and there’s no account to create.
What you get on iPhone
The iPhone app is the same planner as on Android, feature for feature:
- The weekly planner. Breakfast, lunch, snacks and dinner for every day, or meal times you set up yourself.
- Your meal library. Each dish with your own photo, marked veg, egg or non-veg, healthy or protein-rich. Star your favorites.
- Two weeks free. Plan this week and next on the free plan, and copy a week that worked.
- Sharing. Send the week’s plan to the family as text.
- Reminders. Daily and weekly nudges to plan before the week starts.
- Insights. Weekly and monthly charts of your veg, egg and non-veg mix, and your healthy and protein-rich meals.
Pro on iPhone
Masala Menu Pro works the same way on iPhone: plan up to 4 weeks ahead, keep a grocery list for each week with quantities, copy it to another week and share it in one tap, choose an exclusive theme, and back up your data. Prices are shown in the App Store.
Designed for iPad too
The same download runs on iPad, with a layout that adapts to the size of the screen:
- The whole week at a glance. The planner lays the days out side by side, two across when you hold the iPad upright and three across in landscape, so you can plan the week without scrolling day by day.
- Navigation at the side. On the bigger screen, the tabs along the bottom move into a navigation rail at the side.
- Comfortable to read. The dashboard and your meal library sit in a centred column instead of running edge to edge, and settings open as a side panel.
- Works alongside other apps. In Split View, Slide Over or Stage Manager, Masala Menu fits whatever window it’s given, switching to the phone layout when the window is narrow.
A kitchen iPad is a good place for the week’s plan: everyone can see what’s for dinner, and it’s easy to plan the week together on Sunday.
Thank you
A big thank you to everyone who tested Masala Menu on iPhone and iPad before launch. You planned real weeks in it, found the bugs, and told us where things didn’t feel right, and we fixed them before release. This launch is smoother because of you. If you spot anything else, tell us from the app: open settings and tap Contact us.
And to everyone who follows Masala Menu: thank you for your patience. So many of you asked when the iPhone app was coming, waited for it, and sent us ideas for features along the way. Every message was read, and your suggestions are helping shape what we build next. We hope it was worth the wait.
